The Digital Professional
4 The Digital Professional and had very high self-esteem. He never wanted clients to suffer for negligence on his part. Realizing in a moment that it was not worth crying over spilt milk, he said, “Anyway, let me know if any client delays in sending you the details for filing. Now, give me a list of the filings completed for this month and get the despatches ready, it’s time now to raise invoices.” Abhijit was having a tough day but an equally promising night ahead, with the assured dinner at the Zoom Mall looming in his mind. “God knows what more awaits for me today!” thought Abhijit. The landline rang, with the CLI (caller line identification) showing Jay on the other side, “Hello Jay, how are you doing?” said Abhijit to Mr. Jay Verma, his client dealing in retail merchandise. Verma in a requesting tone urged, “Well, I have to leave home early today as my wife is not well. Can we pre-pone our meeting to 2:00 pm i.e., precisely after an hour? Hope you are comfortable?” Abhijit was already in a pressing situation but to honour his client, he promptly replied, “Not a problem, do come and please be here at 2:00 pm.” The response squeezed Abhijit’s time schedule further. Abhijit called Ms. Suman. “Yes Sir!” she said in a pleasant tone. “Did you prepare the partnership deed of Jay’s LLP?” asked Abhijit. “No, Sir! I am about to complete it today,” fumbled Suman. “You need an entire day to draft a deed? What took you so long? It’s the simplest thing to do in the world. You have been on this since yesterday, a job which doesn’t require more than three hours. You still require a day?” countered Abhijit in a raised tone losing his much-coveted sophistication while in conversation with a lady. “Jay has pre-poned the meeting and can be here at any moment. Sit with me for fifteen minutes with whatever you have done. I have to take control of it now. Please don’t make any silly spelling mistakes,” he emphasized.
