8 The Digital Professional It was more like the mechanical watch where duties got assigned and it kept moving. The watch showed 7:30 pm, an hour beyond his scheduled departure for a promised dinner! “Oh! I am late again today. The only way to make up is to buy a bunch of her favorite orchids and a box of dark chocolates.” Thinking about this, he left office in haste. Abhijit later realized that he forgot his wallet in his office drawer. “Aah! I left it again! Now only a left-over change of parking fees can save my day,” said Abhijit to himself. He bought his wife’s favourite dark chocolates from the super market and reached home by 8:00 pm. Supriya didn’t react adversely as she was happy to see that they would continue with the program at the Mall! Abhijit was smart enough to notice this and with all his possessed tact, he produced her favourite dark chocolate to win over the situation completely. “Thank You, Darling! I missed the ‘real you’ more than these chocolates,” said Supriya. She felt happy to see her husband taking efforts to please her. He freshened up quickly, wore his wife’s favourite black half-sleeved shirt and left for Zoom Mall to reach by 9:00 pm on time for dinner. The ambience at the entrance of the restaurant was fairly welcoming. Soft music blended with a gentle breeze, and a dim light in the background created the perfect atmosphere to reignite the missing purple zone of life. “Table for two,” said Abhijit to the hotel manager. They ordered their favorite cuisine: Chinese. The order came pretty fast as there were few people in the restaurant. Supriya’s face was glowing and the spark in her smile was most refreshing. Suddenly he noticed someone in a suit sitting with a lady and having dinner two tables ahead of them. At first sight itself, Abhijit recognized that he was Bikash Paul, his old friend since college days whom he had not met for years.
